The partnership

A special bond between North Carolina and Moldova

What began as military cooperation in 1996 became a formal civilian partnership on April 22, 1999. Secretary of State Elaine F. Marshall has co-chaired the North Carolina–Moldova Bilateral Cooperation Committee since its creation.

Over more than 25 years, the partnership has supported cooperation in education, healthcare, agriculture, economic development, government, and humanitarian service. Our club is honored to bring that statewide effort home to Wake Forest.

More than a professional exchange

Opening our homes, building friendships

The most meaningful moments happen outside conference rooms. Staying with host families, delegates experience North Carolina through the people who live here: home-cooked meals, trips to the coast, Cajun jambalaya and Low Country boils, and long conversations around the dinner table.

Our members, in turn, discover Moldovan traditions and new perspectives. For many participants, these friendships are the most memorable part of the exchange.

Shared opportunity

Stronger communities in both countries

Economic development
Entrepreneurs and business leaders exchanging ideas on growth, innovation, and local opportunity.
Agriculture & rural life
Agritourism, sustainable practices, and new economic paths for rural communities.
Civic leadership
Public officials comparing approaches to governance, planning, and public service.
Education
Connections with universities and professionals that strengthen future collaboration.
Culture & friendship
Mutual respect and goodwill, rooted in the traditions of both countries.
