About the Speaker
- Matthew Kane - Past Rotary District 7710 Governor, Founder of LaunchMyCity & LaunchRaliegh programs, and Graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Marketing.
  
  Katie Gailes - Director of Entrepreneurship Initiatives with Wake Technical Community College. Her mission is to further the entrepreneurial culture and capacity in Wake County, NC, and beyond. One of the projects she manages is the internationally recognized LaunchMyCity project; a community-based entrepreneurship program that is active in 7 of Wake Counties municipalities and will be in all 12 by the end of 2019. She also manages the Wake Tech/Wells Fargo Center for Entrepreneurship, which includes a quarterly speaker series, intensive courses on business and startup planning, and sales skills. For Wake Tech students, She offers a special StartUp@WakeTech initiative aimed at making entrepreneurship education and information more accessible to each of Wake Tech's roughly 30,000 curriculum students.

“Our Stories—Brave Conversations on Race” by Matthew Kane and Katie Gailes. Matt comes to us from the North Raleigh Rotary Club and Katie from Holly Springs Rotary Club. They are coming to describe the program they started which has been going on since the beginning of summer and become a great success. This will be a successful move for our club on the road toward our Peace Initiative. Very exciting!
