Club News – May 24th

The meeting last week was a social at Wine & Beer 101. The honorees for the evening were Rachel and Zeke. They got married last December, but the COVID rules have kept us from celebrating the occasion with them. It was good to see our biggest get-together in over a year be such a success.

  • LAUNCH Wake Forest will graduate from the Spring 2021 class this week. It was a primarily in-person class. The Zoom Room allowed those who could come in person to attend. Thanks to all our sponsors. The Town of Wake Forest, Wake Forest Chamber of Commerce, and the Wireless Research Center were the title sponsors this year. Many local businesses also supported us by sponsoring meals and providing speakers.
  • The District 7710 training took place online last weekend. The hope is that we will be back to an in-person event for Fall training in September. Two major events that are upcoming are the Rotary International Convention on June 12-16 and the District 7710 Conference is on June 5. They are both virtual and you can register online.
  • There will be no meeting next Monday, May 31st, Memorial Day. We will be back at the Forks on June 7th. Elizabeth Gardner from WRAL will be our speaker.
